Lisa studied occupational therapy as a mature aged student and graduated with First Class Honours from the University of the Sunshine Coast in December 2019 following four and a half years of study. She was pleased to be recipient of the university medal for research and academic excellence, her research being centred around peer support work and recovery-oriented practice in mental healthcare.
Whilst raising her children, Lisa was employed in various roles including retail, administration, and dental nursing. It was during a role with a dental team servicing aged care facilities that she was introduced to occupational therapy. During her degree, she completed three work placements, including within the mental health sector and this led to her passion for working with and supporting clients living with psychosocial challenges. She is thoroughly enjoying working at Minerva, supporting clients using recovery focussed principles at the forefront of her practice, aligning with the values and central tenet of both Minerva and occupational therapy.
